Dear Visitor!
Thank you for visiting the website of the Herman Ottó Institute Nonprofit Ltd.
The focus of our work – as a nonprofit limited company owned by the Ministry of Agriculture – is on nature conservation, rural development and agricultural vocational education.
Our organisation has been a key player in domestic agricultural vocational education for nearly 30 years. We support the value-added work of agricultural training programs by publishing textbooks and examination papers. In school-based training programs, it is very important to impart up-date knowledge, so we strive to incorporate the latest scientific and professional knowledge into our textbooks.
The organisation is the coordinating beneficiary of the Grassland-HU LIFE integrated project, which aims to ensure the long-term conservation of the Pannonian grasslands and associated habitats through broad professional collaboration. In the field of nature conservation, our colleagues work on the conservation of biological diversity, participate in the protection against non-native invasive species, and operate the Wilderness Monitoring Program jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture launched in 2009.
In the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) period starting from 2023, Hungary has designed its national CAP Network based on the CAP Strategic Plan. Our organisation performs the tasks of the Rural and Regional Development Support Unit of the national CAP Network and provides permanent secretarial support to the Hungarian National Rural Network. Our role is to promote the funding opportunities available under the CAP in the area of LEADER program and rural infrastructure and service development, as well as to provide professional support for cooperating rural communities, start-up enterprises, and interventions facilitating generation renewal.
